Throwing Experience
Have you ever fancied throwing a pot on the electric potters wheel? Come join me at my wheel and see what it's like
How the throwing taster sessions work:-
My throwing taster sessions are very popular and book up quickly. These private sessions are held at my garden studio in central St Albans and are perfect for individuals, pairs or small family groups. I start off with a throwing demo. All my teaching is fully supported (1:2:1) which means we all share the same wheel and take turns throwing. The price is the same regardless of the number of potters taking part.
*** private session: 1 tutor/ 1 wheel ***
I do a limited number of sessions each month, term time – usually Fridays & Saturdays – which book up very quickly.
Costs : 1 hr £65; 90 mins £95; 2hrs £125
More info
You can make as many pots as you like during the session, and at the end you decide what you'd like glazed. There is also an option for decorating your pots with coloured slip. Not only is it fun, but it can keep the children occupied while the adults get a turn on the wheel.
In your booking, please specify the number of people taking part, and the ages of the children (if any). Typically it takes 10-15 mins per person per pot, although some potters (usually children) are faster.
Note: the FAMILY throwing sessions work the same– I just reserve them for families during school holidays. Families can book regular sessions.
Glazing requires drying, bisque & glaze firing and typically takes 4-6 weeks. All creations are dishwasher safe.
I will contact you when your creations are ready. Owing to limited storage space, please collect soonest. Long unclaimed items may get donated.
